2024 WORKSHOP

Weaving is an ancient cultural technique that has been passed down from generation to generation over centuries. This workshop builds on that tradition by focusing on the transfer of artisanal knowledge.

During the three-day workshop, participants will first learn the basics of tapestry – a traditional weaving technique. Afterward, each person can create their own design using the skills they have acquired. The workshop concludes with a presentation of the results in the White Cube at the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design.

The shared experience of working together provides an opportunity for group exchange and inspiration. The workshop will also include input on the history of weaving, contemporary textile art, and the metaphor of weaving – from Greek mythology to the "World Wide Web."
